Our Owners
Rodney Schilt
Rodney is a third-generation construction worker. He started out working for his dad who was a general contractor and has been active in the construction industry since the 1970’s. Along the way, he moved from working in the field to estimating to running a construction company with his dad, and, after his dad’s passing, setting out on his own. Later, Rodney put his extensive experience to work for clients when he and his wife, JoAnn, started SMS in 2002.
JoAnn Schilt
JoAnn, the daughter of a bricklayer, worked her way up from hourly jobs to paying insurance claims to running a successful construction management firm with her husband. JoAnn understands the unique administrative demands of every construction project as well as the business challenges facing contractors of all shapes and sizes.
Samantha Snow
Samantha, Rodney and JoAnn’s daughter, studied finance at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She met Austin in 2006, during their first semester. They were married in 2008 and both graduated in 2010. Samantha helps move SMS forward as she brings a fresh perspective to company owner meetings and marketing events.
Fun Fact: Samantha and her husband, Austin, have 7 kids.
Austin Snow, CCM, CPA
Austin, Rodney and JoAnn’s son-in-law studied accounting and finance at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. After graduating, Austin worked in the operations of a major investment bank before he and Samantha moved back to Oklahoma in 2011 to work with SMS. Rodney and JoAnn hired Austin as the company’s CFO, and in 2016 he became a CPA. Around that time, he also took on project management, eventually achieving the requirements to become a certified construction manager.
